Bradenton Criminal Defense Attorneys: Are CSI units real?

Our Bradenton Criminal Defense Attorneys have had the opportunity to examine both the facts and the myths regarding CSI units.  CSI units have become well known through the wide variety of television shows on CBS and other cable shows referencing the collection of scientific forensic evidence. In short, CSI units or as they are also known Crime Scene Investigation Units are real. Every major law enforcement agency in the Tampa Bay area has a separate and distinct CSI division.  For your convenience, we provided a link to the Hillsborough County CSI unit.

Unfortunately though, this is where fact and fiction collide. In real life, these CSI units are solely intended to collect forensic, scientific evidence. Their jobs are far more boring than the television shows, where they’re often depicted chasing, interrogating and arresting individuals. In real life, they essentially collect evidence and then turn it over to detectives.

As we have discussed elsewhere on our Bradenton Criminal Defense Attorney blog, our attorneys have had great success challenging scientific evidence in many ways. We’ve challenged and successfully defeated drug tests, DNA evidence, fingerprints, touch DNA, etc. If you have questions concerning scientific evidence or the collection of scientific evidence, contact the Bradenton Criminal Defense Attorneys at Hackworth Law for free case consultation. We will sit down and determine the evidence against you and begin identifying the shortcomings of collection and processing of that forensic evidence.
