How can I stop the harassment from my ex?

In cases where domestic violence is taking place, a court may issue an injunction preventing a spouse from having contact with another spouse. An injunction is a court order that requires a party to do something or refrain from doing something. Injunctions are generally the most reliable and power means to stop your issue of stopping harassment from my ex.  There are temporary injunctions and permanent injunctions. Our firm has experience in assisting folks, like you, getting both. We also understand that many times people seeking injunctions have limited financial resources and will work with you to get the protection you need from an abusive spouse.

According to Florida Statute 741.30, to file an injunction a person must have been the victim of domestic violence or must have a reasonable belief that he or she is in imminent danger of becoming a victim of domestic violence. A petition for an injunction can be filed through the clerk of court.

Once the Petition is filed, the assigned Judge will quickly review the Petition to determine whether to immediately grant it.  Once the Judge makes a determination regarding the same, if it is graned, the Judge will quickly set it for a “return hearing.”  During the “return hearing”, both the petitioner and respondent have the opportunity to present evidence and argument to support their position.  The Tampa attorneys of Hackworth Law have experience in preparing and arguing these injunctions.  This is one obvious means to stop harassment from an ex.  Contact the experienced divorce attorneys of Hackworth Law for a free consultation, either through our “Contact Us Now” tab in the upper right hand corner of our website or our new chatbox.
